We Like Many Are Enthusiasts
I like many other people grew up in a world where Formula 1 was only really enjoyed by the Elite or those belonging to some form of club. This placed Formula 1 beyond the reach of many and was only available to view in magazines or the occasional spot on the weekly sports programme. (Such As)
“Grandstand” which was aired on a Saturday evening where millions would watch the weekly sporting events for that time of season. Time slots were limited by the length of the programme i.e. Saturday afternoon and the many sports it showed including football, wrestling billiards etc so each allocation of time was precious unlike today’s festivale of sports.
Fast forward to today where F1 has its own channels and various stations show races or highlights during the course of the season the world has come a long way since the early days of sport coverage!
